There is such a thing as deterrence- something local politicians don't seem to know much about when they wail on about handgun bans.It's a convenient excuse for them to sit and twiddle their thumbs and avoid their responsibility to protect the public. If they spent as much time making sure the justice system wasn't a revolving door as they do about banning handguns , the public would be better served.
